Details….
MAS undertook to upgrade the Power Station of the Monastery of Vatopedio on Athos Mountain. The installed power on the island consisted of 5 engines totaling about 950 KW. Out of these, three engines (470KW) were to provide the basic power while the other two would be standby for emergency use. MAS installed a new control system in the Monastery for full automatic isochronous operation of the power station that was distant and was connected with the control panel by fiber optics. A general SCADA system was also installed providing full remote control and monitoring of the entire operation insuring thus that the station would operate unattended.
