Marine Division

MAS was established 35 years ago as an engineering company specialised in automation systems for vessels. The Marine Repair Industry was flourishing in Greece at the time, and MAS aimed to provide to shipping companies a reliable engineering company that could repair or install pneumatic, hydraulic, electric and electronic automation systems. The name of the company at the time was Marine Automation Service, a name it kept until the nineties when the expansion of its activities in Industry and Power obliged it to limit its name to MAS.

MAS quickly became the leading company in its market and its very close cooperation with Woodward helped it establish stringent quality standards that were appreciated by the Marine Industry in general as well as with most of the surveying Societies to whom MAS especially through the 70s and 80s had to submit a number of its projects for inspection.

MAS designs, installs and commissions complete integrated automation and control systems for marine applications in electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic mediums. MAS uses an integrated approach implementing advanced computer and/or microprocessor based technologies configured to operate with existing equipment and systems. Our systems are suitable for new vessels of any size and for retrofit programs modernising existing ships.

In the various systems it installs, MAS uses state of the art equipment of undisputable quality. Wherever applicable MAS uses equipment of the companies it represents (Woodward, Kidde Graviner) or of companies it has a close business relationship (Bosch-Rexroth), except if clients specify otherwise. The above high quality controls are supported as necessary with controls of equivalent quality as necessary to complete the required system.

MAS continues today to be one of the leading companies in the Marine building and repair market, not only in Greece, but in the wider Eastern Mediterranean basin offering among others to the repair, upgrading and new building shipping industry:

We believe it is important to add that all products we use on board vessels have the approval of quality and classification societies. From our long work with vessels we have repeatedly cooperated with most classification societies and have learned what they require in order to conform to their rules. On the other hand, we pride ourselves to believe that these societies recognise the high standard of our work.
